  • Beat the Bailiff

    Beat The Bailiff

If you have an arrangement to pay under Smiths Bailiffs of Torquay you need to read this now. I will not be asking questions but you SHOULD take notes.

Bailiffs have no right of entry into your home (again) Bailiffs have no right of entry into your home. They will lie, threaten and be down right disgustingly rude to get into your home BECAUSE once they are in it is GAME OVER.

Bailiffs cannot legally force their way into your home, but they can enter by your invitation, by any open door or window, and by any un-locked door or window whether it is open or not. Getting into your home is termed PEACEFUL ENTRY.

WHEN THEY ACHIEVE PEACEFUL ENTRY THEY ACQUIRE THE RIGHT TO ENTER YOUR HOME AT ANY TIME.

If you are one of the many people under an arrangement with SMITHs Bailiffs of Torquay you have an opportunity to beat the bailiff.

The new bailiffs are Ross & Roberts Ltd and if you have not got an arrangement with Ross & Roberts Ltd they are desperate to sign you up. But first they have to gain peaceful entry. Keep the bailiff out.

They will threaten you with calling the Police. Let them call the Police because the Police do not have powers to force you to let the bailiffs in, the Police will only attend to ensure that there is no breach of the peace. They will make sure that the bailiffs do not attempt to break in or try to assault you.

They will threaten you with calling for a locksmith. If a locksmith comes to your house and you do not have an arrangement with Ross & Roberts Ltd any attempt to interfere with your locks will cause an illegal entry. Take photos of any such action and include photos of the bailiff.

If the bailiff cannot get into your home he will return the warrant to the Council tax authority as "Nulla Bono" this is latin for "no money". Incidentally latin phrases are banned in these types of document under the Office of Fair Trading rules on debt collection. Plain English has to be used at all times.

The council will write to you saying that if you do not pay (something) against your council tax arrears they will apply to the Magistrates Court for a committal order. If they actually do this you are going to prison but read on.

It follows then that if the bailiff threatens you with arrest if you do not allow them into your home he is lying to you because he does not have the power to take such action. He can only do this if the council has taken action and a warrant for your arrest has been issued. Many of the people who turn to me to complain tell me that they have been told by the bailiff they can be arrested "here and now" if the bailiff is not granted entry into the home.

The bailiffs I meet all tell the same lies so I guess it is standard operating procedure.

So what is the procedure? KEEP THE BAILIFF OUT.

So you owe council tax and you have refused to cooperate with the bailiff, what next.

Well I have told you what the council will do but you have responsibilities here too.

A few days in Gloucester Open Prison ... bit of a holiday really but I am NOT recommending you take that route.

Let us take a look at you. Are you on Income Support? Are you classed as a low wage earner? Have you applied for Council Tax benefit within the last twelve months. Are you in receipt of a sickness related benefit? Are you chronically sick?

All these and some more will either qualify you for extra benefits or tie the council's hands as to how much you pay towards your arrears.

On Income Support and with arrears of council tax you are REQUIRED to pay £20.00 a month only.

If you are long term sick and your sicknes falls into the right categories the council are required to take this into account when deciding whether to send in the bailiff or not. Ingrowing toe nails does NOT qualify you (sorry). When you are on the vulnerable persons register you still have to pay your dues but you will not see a bailiff on your door.

Tell the council about any medical condition and state benefits you have. The more information they have the easier your passage through this difficult time will be. You will pay a reasonable amount but not be liable to having your home trashed by the bailiff.

If none of this applies then you have to pay. I am NOT telling you how to beat the bailiff so that you can get away with not paying your dues ... the council needs your money so pay it. Pay what you can afford. But pay.

If the council insists that you make an arrangement with the bailiff and pay them and will not accept money from you direct there is a legal way around this.

You tell the council that you have an agent, or third party, acting for you. This could be your brother, sister, Mum or Dad or a professional firm like Debtfix. The law states that "if a third party acting on behalf of a debtor tenders a sum of money on their behalf, the creditor, as a principle of Law, has to accept the payment".

If you do not believe me or you ignore the advice given here you are laying yourself open to years of extra charges imposed by the bailiff on threat of them trashing your home. So check it out.

Go and look at Birmingham City council's website and search for Bailiff. This council tells its debtors how to beat the bailiff they send to collect the council tax. How weird is that ? NOT AT ALL. It makes the process transparent and open, WHY DOES PLYMOUTH NOT DO THIS on its website?

In the last levy I attended the bailff extorted £692.00 from their victim. Of that cash only £104.50 was paid to Plymouth City Council Revenue so despite paying the best part of £700.00 to the bailiff only £104.50 came off the debt.

Ask yourself "do you want to be put into this position?"

Don't let the bailiffs get rich on the backs of the poor in our community.

If you need direct help send me an email via the members site. I am listed as Debtfix.

Warning this blog applies to COUNCIL TAX only other types of debt have different rules. For court fines and income tax the rules are very different!

  • WoW World of Warcraft 30g to 10,000g in 2 weeks, level 6

This may work on some servers and not on others as prices fluctuate greatly.

    Author Unknown

I recently stopped playing again, but I had 3 weeks left of playtime so I decided to do an experiment. I rolled an alt on Stormscale horde where my friend plays, leveled it up to 6 and took tailoring/enchanting, and got 30G from my friend as a start. I used two weeks of crafting and half a week of just selling the last I crafted, and I ended up with 11000G total. I'll just list items I made and sold, and then specify some more. To find if it is profitable on your server you'll unfortunately have to do some math.

Low level crafting: Take tailoring/enchanting, buy lots of linen cloth. I bought linen cloth for less than 50s/stack and level 1-15 green items for less than 20s each. Mass crafted first Bolt of Linen Cloth, and then Brown Linen Robe. Made a macro to one click disenchant them. After I was done with that the first evening I had turned 30G into 200G worth of Strange Dust(12G/stack) and Greater Magic Essence(1.2G/each).
    The macro is
    /cast Disenchant
    /use [item]
Just link the item and you will be able to one click disenchant what you have. If you replace the /cast Disenchant with /cast Prospecting, it will work as one click prospecting too.

Low level disenchanting: By then I had got enchanting so high I could start disenchanting level 16-20 green items. These produce average 5 strange dust each DE, compared to the average 1.5 dust per Brown Linen Robe DE, so I could buy them for a higher price and still get good profit in the long run. When disenchanting always know how big the average DE value is before buying. For example with the price for linen cloth and dust I said, crafting a Brown Linen Robe costs me 15s max, but I DE it into average 75s each. A level 16-20 item disenchants into average 3G, but I rarely buy them above 1G(I don't want the sellers to think the market is too good).
The levels of enchanting and what you can disenchant:
1: Up to level 15 items
25: Up to level 20 items
50: Up to level 25 items
75: Up to level 30 items
The rest of the DE ranges can be found by looking on WoWhead, but these are what will be for a level 5 alt.

Small Radiant Shards: I bought these for less than 4G each, put them on AH in stacks of 4 for 24G, a 6G/shard. It alone won't make you rich, but it's easy 10G+ per day income unless you have many other doing it. Overall I didn't do much buying/reselling without any crafting, I'm not very good at it.

Blue quality gems: Learn the prices of blue quality gems, both cut and uncut, so you can see when a blue uncut gem is a bargain. For example cut Living Rubies were selling for 60-100G each with uncut for 50-65G each, so I made sure to only buy them below 60G and sell above 75G, doing useful cuts like teardrop/runed/delicate/bright.
Other cuts I got: All kinds of Noble Topaz but Reckless, Balanced/Glowing/Royal/Shifting Nightseye and Gleaming/Great/Mystic/Rigid/Smooth. All gems were bought from AH and 5G paid for each cut to a friendly JC, so make sure that the difference in price between the uncut and cut gem is over 15G.

Meta gems: Here I just did two gems, Chaotic Skyfire and Bracing Earthstorm. Best caster and best healer gems in my opinion, and both relatively hard to get for an unmotivated JC. In my case I could buy the uncut gem from AH, get it cut for 10G fee, and then sell it on AH for 30-50G profit.

First Aid Tomes: I ran my level 6 to Camp Taurajo, then east into the mountains avoiding all mobs. Had him go down on the other side of the mountain into the horde camp in Dustwallow Marsh. There I bought the First Aid tomes from the vendor(expert, heavy silk, mageweave) and I'm selling them 2-4 of each per day for 1.5-3G profit each. Alliance needs to buy them from Arathi Highlands, so it's a longer and more dangerous run.
Horde vendor: Balai Lok'Wein - NPC - World of Warcraft
    http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=13476
Alliance vendor: Deneb Walker - NPC - World of Warcraft
    http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=2805

Mystic/Runic Spellthread: Primal Mana is your main resource to make these, so keep an eye on Primal Mana prices. On my server they were selling for 18-25G lowest price at different times, so I had a rule to buy all I found below 20G each. That way the crafting cost of Mystic Spellthread would be 105G(5G to crafter) max. Luckily they were selling easily for 150-170G most of the time. Runic Spellthreads didn't have the same amount of profit per primal mana used, but since it targeted another buyer I made them too. You need a scryers tailor to get these made, honored/exalted for the blue/epic types. 5G/10G crafting fee.

Silver/Golden Spellthread: Primal Life is what you'll be looking for here. On my server the price for primal life were higher(23-26G), but so were the prices for the threads, so I got 50-80G profit for silver and 120-200G profit for golden. These need aldor honored/exalted tailor which is harder to find. 5G/10G crafting fee.

Clefthide/Nethercleft leg armor: You need total of 16 items for the clefthide armor, all which are in the same price range(3-5G). I checked prices for clefthide armor on AH, multiplied by 0.95(AH fee), subtracted 5G(crafter fee) and then divided by 16G to find the max price I could use for one of the reagents. Then I normally bought it for 1G less than the max price, which lead to buying Thick Clefthoof leather for 2.5-4G each, Primal Earth for 3-4G each and Knothide Leather for 10-14G/stack. The reason I didn't buy Heavy Knothide leather directly was because the price of it was higher than buying Knothide Leather and getting the LW to make that too at a normal 50s fee per heavy knothide he crafted. The clefthide armor sell very well, they don't cost alot and many people buy them for their level 70 blues or just for alts they level that they want to give extra support. I made few Nethercleft because I was selling Clefthide so quickly, and there was a limited amount of cheap Thick Clefthoof Leather before they understood someone was buying it.

Fel Iron Rod: I bought Fel Iron Ore for up to 15G/stack(1.5G per Fel Iron Bar), found a miner/BS and got him to make me Fel Iron Rods. After paying the crafter 2-4G per Fel Iron Rod made(included the smelting) I sold the rods on AH for 25-30G, which was 13-18G above the crafting cost. I expect Eternium Rod will be profitable as well since it only needs 4 bars, but Adamantite Rod needs 10 and I therefore didn't do it. Easily sold 2-3 per day.

Epic SSC belts: Now we're talking. Depending on the age and population density of your server, this can be either very profitable or impossible to make money on. The most important here is getting cheap Nether Vortex. If the normal price for Vortexes(or epic gems) on your server is around 150-250G, it can be good. I got them either through AH for around 200G each, or by looking in trade for people selling them or epic gems. Many JC like to stand in shattrath by G'eras and advertise something like "All epic cuts 200G". Both epic gems and nether vortex cost 15 badges, so convinving him to sell you a couple vortexes shouldn't be hard.

Getting the primals is just looking at AH for couple of days until you see what the normal price is, and then buy when it goes below that. For example I bought most of my Primal Air/Fire/Shadow for 24-26G each, but sometimes there were people that put up for 20G each, which were quickly bought by me.

Finding the crafter can be hard. I advice asking around in the top raiding guilds on your server, or run around in a major city inspecting people hoping to find someone with an epic belt where you can see crafter name. Fee for crafting can vary between 10G and 50G+ depending on raid progress on server and friendlyness of crafter.

When I had got 200G nether vortexes, 25G primals and 25G crafting fee, my finished belt cost me roughly 800-950G. I got total 2 Belt of Blasting and 5 Belt of Deep Shadow crafted and they sold for 1600G BO, so 600-700G profit to me after AH fee for each belt. Always do the math first though, because on a server with high nether vortex prices there might not be many people with money to buy your finished belt, and getting up to 2000G will reduce your amount of potential buyers.

General crafting tips: Always have armory ready to check the crafter, if they have enough crafting skill or possibly the rep needed. Ask for a crafting link(the yellow one). Agree on a fee beforehand. Don't be cheap, but don't agree to too much either. For example one guy wanted 50G to craft belt of deep shadow so I just told him to give me my mats back, because I had got 4 belts crafted earlier that day by another guy for 20G each(he wanted 10G). The first JC I used cost 10G for a blue cut, the majority was around 5G but I found one guy that cut for 3G each and he had more patterns than anyone else I found.

General AH tips: Use auctioneer. Items where you are likely to be undercut are put up on 12 hour auctions. Enchanting mats and epic belts should be 48 hour auctions. Even if you don't need mats to craft something right now, search for the mats you know you would use later and buy if they are cheap. Look at motes too, sometimes the price of a single mote is way below one tenth the price of a primal. Don't be afraid to undercut by 1 copper, the buyers don't care. I have configured my Auctioneer to automatically undercut lowest buyout by 0.01%.

  • A security hole in Adobe Systems' software, used to distribute movies and TV shows over the Internet, is giving users free access to record and copy from Amazon.com's video streaming service.

NEW YORK--A security hole in Adobe Systems' software, used to distribute movies and TV shows over the Internet, is giving users free access to record and copy from Amazon.com's video streaming service.

The problem exposes online video content to the rampant piracy that plagued the music industry during the Napster era and is undermining efforts by retailers, movie studios and television networks to cash in on a huge Web audience.

"It's a fundamental flaw in the Adobe design. This was designed stupidly," said Bruce Schneier, a security expert who is also the chief security technology officer at British Telecom.

The flaw rests in Adobe's Flash video servers that are connected to the company's players installed in nearly all of the world's Web-connected computers.

The software doesn't encrypt online content, but only orders sent to a video player such as start and stop play. To boost download speeds, Adobe dropped a stringent security feature that protects the connection between the Adobe software and its players.

"Adobe is committed to the security of all of our products, from our players to our server software. Adobe invests a considerable amount of ongoing effort to help protect users from potential vulnerabilities," it said in a statement.

Adobe said it issued a security bulletin earlier this month about how best to protect online content and called on its customers to couple its software security with a feature that verifies the validity of its video player.

An Amazon spokesman said content on the company's Video On Demand service, which offers as many as 40,000 movies and TV shows on its Web site, cannot be pirated using video stream catching software.

However, in tests by Reuters, at least one program to record online video, the Replay Media Catcher from Applian Technologies, recorded movies from Amazon and other sites that use Adobe's encryption technology together with its video player verification.

"Adobe's (stream) is not really encrypted," said Applian CEO Bill Dettering. "One of the downfalls with how they have architected the software is that people can capture the streams. I fully expect them to do something more robust in the near future."

    How it works
The free demo version of Replay Media Catcher allows anyone to watch 75 percent of anything recorded and 100 percent of YouTube videos. For $39, a user can watch everything recorded.

One Web site -- www.tvadfree.com -- explains step-by-step how to use the video stream catching software.

Amazon.com's Adobe-powered Video On Demand service allows viewers to watch the first two minutes of a movie or TV show for free. It charges up to $3.99 to rent a movie for 24 hours and up to $14.99 to download a movie permanently.

Amazon starts to stream the entire movie during the free preview -- even though it pauses the video on the Web browser after the first two minutes -- so that users can start watching the rest of the video right away once they pay.

"It's the traditional trade-off, convenience on the one hand and security on the other," said Ray Valdes, analyst at research group Gartner.

However, even if a user doesn't pay, the stream still sends the movie to the video catching software, but not the browser.

Amazon's Video On Demand is the Web retailer's answer to declining sales of packaged movies and TV shows and the growth in demand for digital content that can be viewed and stored on the Internet.

Unlike Amazon, videos from Hulu.com, NBC.com and CBS.com (ZDNet is owned by CBS) are already free although the TV programs are interrupted by commercials. However, the stream catching software separates the commercials and the program into two separate folders, so people can keep the programs without the advertising.

Hulu.com, a video Web site owned by News Corp's Fox network and General Electric Co's NBC Universal, was the big networks' answer to YouTube, the popular video-sharing Web site where many users began uploading TV shows and other content owned by media companies.

The networks scrambled to post videos on their own sites in a bid to capture another stream of advertising revenue from a growing audience, but they have struggled with how best to show commercials which fund the programing when played on the Web.

YouTube, which started the online video boom before being bought by Google Inc for $1.65 billion in November 2006, has also struggled to cash in on its popularity even though its user base continues to mushroom.

    Destroying business models
One possible solution would be to protect the video with a digital rights management (DRM) system. A Seattle-based company called Widevine Technologies has a DRM system that can encrypt online videos using Flash.

"The fundamental problem here is that Adobe's lack of technology is not allowing the business models to be preserved," said Widevine Chief Executive Brian Baker.

The lack of content protection, according to Baker, threatens all the business models used today to fund video on the Web.

Apple Inc, which sells movies and television shows at its online iTunes store, uses its own DRM technology called FairPlay, but it only works for video bought on iTunes.

Forrester analyst James McQuivey said he doesn't believe the video stream catching technology will entirely derail the advertising-supported business model used by the networks for online video.

"It's too complicated for most users," said McQuivey, noting that file-sharing services like BitTorrent already exist but only a small percentage of people use them.

"People want something easy to find and easy to use."

  • Get Paid To Drive Your Car Or Get A Free Car

Get paid up to £1000 a month to drive your own car! If you
already own a car, you can still participate in the program.
These companies will PAY YOU MONEY TO DRIVE your own
    car.

    Why are they doing this?

Well they're going to place an advert on the car you drive with their
company logo or advertisement. That's it!! You can drive the car as
    you normally do.

Just think a company could spend £10,000 a month for a small
billboard on the side of the road somewhere, or they could pay you
£100 to £1000 a month so that you drive the same road, plus go to
the shops, pick the children from school, drive to the concert, to
church, to dance practice, to the football match, visit family and
friends and a hundred other places during the month. Not to
mention that the novelty of this new form of advertising will catch
thousands of more eyes than a stale hoarding at the side of the
    road.

The problem is that purchasing an entire fleet of cars for an
advertising campaign can be overly expensive, so this simple
solution was developed. Instead of purchasing their own cars,
companies will sometimes "rent" space on individual private cars.
In return for letting a company "wrap" your car with their
advertisement, they will pay you a monthly fee. The fees can be as
high as ?1000 a month for a full car wrap and lesser amounts for a
partial car wrap or a simple advertisement.

    FREE CAR?

Another option for some companies is to offer in place of car wraps
a free or subsidised car with the advertisements already on it. Your
only costs are fuel and insurance meaning that you are getting
transportation at a fraction of the cost of owning your own car.

    Who Qualifies?

You must be 18 years or older, have a valid drivers license, and
completely fill out an application. Some of the companies listed
below request a credit check but not all of them.

You must be a permanent resident of The United Kingdom, The
    United States or Canada.

The selection depends upon considerations such as your driving
record, driving habits, location, etc. Most companies require a
minimum driving mileage and a clean driving record (no points
    within the past 12 months).

Gary Glitter asked, "What about the children?"
The captain replied, "Fuck the children!"
Gary Glitter looked around eagerly and said "Do we have time?"

wondering, "Now what have I done?"
Inside the bedroom he finds the girl furiously packing a suitcase.

  • WoW World of Warcraft Even easier ghetto hearth!

Too lazy to find someone to ghetto hearth you? Tired of noobs not just accepting the invites? Make this macro and you can start a ghetto hearth countdown almost instantly, without having to wait for an accept. (What is a ghetto hearth answered at the bottom)

    The macro is simply:
    /invite X
    /promote X
    /script LeaveParty()

Where x is the person you've chosen to use for this, pick someone at random, it doesn't matter. (this may or may not work on grouped people like the /roll macro, probably not though)

The invite message will stay on the other person's screen but they wont join a group if they click accept and you'll still get ghetto hearthed if they hit decline.

A ghetto hearth is when you enter an instance with your hearthstone on or off cooldown and leave a group in which you are not the leader, the instance automatically ports you back to your hearth location which can be extremely useful for going back between cities like Stormwind or Orgrimmar and shattrath multiple times.
